Geek Love TLC

If you read my blog regularly you will know that I love weird shows. The weirder the better. But, I particularly love dating shows! So imagine my excitement when I found a dating show based around slightly weird people that was on Youtube.

Geek love is amazing. It follows one person in each episode as they try to find romance at a New York Sci-fi convention called Comicon. They take part in speed dating, filled with some exceptionally beautiful people, and some that clearly have issues with social skills. Usually the people taking part are dressed up as an obscure comic book character that people have a hard time guessing - but there's always one person who knows who they are supposed to be.

It doesn't always work out for these geeks, but there tends to be some sort of happy ending. There are low points, like the Mum who basically joins the couple on their first date and asks the fella his intentions repeatedly (despite her daughter being 22 years old).

So, if you want to watch a show that has geeks, a personal journey, overcoming adversity and occasionally finding love - this one's for you. There is an added bonus of the bloke who runs the speed dating being pretty funny too.

In order to get you started, here is the first episode. If you're not blown away - believe me, it gets better as the series goes on.
